The University of Florence is an important and influential centre for research and higher training in Italy, with 1,800 lecturers and internal research staff, 1,600 technical and administrative staff, and over 1,600 research assistants and doctoral students.
CANTEENS : The catering services are aimed at all university students (enrolled in first and second level degree courses, masters, advanced courses, professional refresher courses, research doctorates and specialization schools). In the vicinity of the various universities there are several restaurants of the DSU Toscana (directly managed, under contract or in agreement) where university students can have a full meal, both for lunch and dinner, at affordable prices. The cost of meals is established on the basis of the ISEE value presented by the student at the University of Florence, according to the criteria established by the DSU.
ACCOMMODATIONS : The beds in the university residences are benefits assigned by competition to able and deserving resident off-site students, but without financial means. The competition notice is usually published in July.
