The University of Nova Gorica was established in 2005, evolving from the Faculty of Environmental Sciences (est. 1995). In its short but rich history the university grew into a dynamic and diverse academic institution with seven schools, offering study programs at all levels. These range from the fields of physics, environmental science, engineering and management, through open education, cultural history, cognitive linguistics, literary and migration studies, digital and media arts, all the way to material science, viticulture and enology, molecular genetics, biotechnology and karstology.

The University’s recognized scientific achievements and its position in the idyllic Vipava valley region of growing international acclaim, represent a perfect environment for current and future students.
